Types of poses

There are different kinds of poses that may tell a lot about your intentions and your attitude to the situation. Here are some postures and their meaning:
Competitive and defence posture is used in sharp discussions, argues, etc. People who participate in communication sit in front of each other. That allows seeing the expression of the face very well. Gestures that can change almost every second are also well seen. The barrier in the form of the table gives the chance of defence if something goes wrong. In such case the posture being in front of each other helps not to loose the nonverbal signals of the speaker and to react to them in time.
Independent posture tells about unwillingness to communicate. Participants of communication are sitting in different corners of the table that has the negative influence on the process of communication. If to try to change the position like for example, to sit down closer, another person may stand up and leave the room. This is the most negative form of communication sitting at the table and in general the most negative nonverbal form of communication.
If a person interfered into your personal limits, you'll get away unconsciously and maybe you'll pull your hands forward not to allow the further interference into your space. Sometimes you may feel the rage, the increase of pulse frequency, the adrenaline release. If you got into the situation when the interference is inevitable, then it is recommended to refuse from any contact with such people even nonverbal. Don't look into their eyes.
