Handshaking and backslaps

Handshaking is characterised in dependence on the period of its lasting, the way it was realised, the strength or its realization.

Strong and energetic shaking of the speaker's hand together with delightful expressions tells about the sincerity of the partner and his/her desire to continue the talk. And if the person shakes the hands with both hands then it means he/she is friendly and is satisfied with talking to you.

But if a person gives you his/her hand with no enthusiasm as if it was the hand of the dead person it is the sign that he/she doesn't want to make the contact.

The cold hand during the handshaking may be the signal that the partner got cold or is worried a lot. The sweated palms indicate the same.

If the hand is put palm down during the shaking, it means the desire to dominate the person. If vice versa, the palm is directed upwards, its owner wants to be under the command of the person unconsciously.

There is the characteristic gesture of men that is backslaps. This nonverbal gestures often mean friendship, compassion or appreciation. They can be seen almost in all age categories of people. Such gesture indicates the male power and the readiness of the person to help you.

But this gesture mustn't be confused with the same one during the medical treatment as newly born babies also receive backslaps to make them cry and release the lugs. If one chokes, he is also slapped. This is also the type of gestures in the massage practice. That means that every gesture must be considered in situations.
